Beyond Computing

Last week, the Year 10 Beyond Computing class attended Banyule Nillumbik Tech School as part of their Future Transport unit. Collaborating with the North East Link Project, our students delved into the realm of innovative transportation solutions. Working in groups, they explored various avenues to enhance our local active transport paths by devising cutting-edge apps, envisioning rest areas, optimising pathways, and even harnessing the power of wind turbines to generate clean energy.

Their efforts culminated in impressive prototypes that left industry experts at BNTS and NELP impressed. The students' presentations showcased not only their technical ability but also embodied the core values of our college: Achieve, Respect and Connect.

Throughout the excursion, they demonstrated exceptional teamwork, respect for their peers and mentors, and an unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

I am so proud of our Year 10 students for their innovative thinking, dedication, and the exemplary way in which they represented Macleod College. Their participation in this transformative experience has equipped them with invaluable skills and insights that will shape their future endeavours in the fields of STEM and beyond.
