Primary Band

Our primary band is expanding; every week we have new students excitedly joining.

We have 2 pianists, a drummer, guitarist, trumpeter, clarinettist, saxophonist, flautist and 6 violinists (as well as 2 teachers playing, Tony and Paloma).

Generations in Jazz - Mount Gambier 5 - 7 May

It was fantastic to be back at Generations in Jazz again after three years of cancellations. It is an incredible experience for the students, and they have come back inspired to work hard to take the next steps in their musical journeys. 

We are extremely proud to announce that our Music Captain, Isaac Parton was awarded Second Trombone in the Generations in Jazz Super Band. Being named in the Super Band is an individual award acknowledging the best instrumentalists and it is a huge honour. 

Furthermore, Big Band came 10th in their division and our Vocal Ensemble performed admirably. The group of students who went along to Generations in Jazz are an incredible group of people, embodying our school values. They are great ambassadors for Macleod College.

“Generations in Jazz was a new experience for many of the students who went along this year. Roughly 75% of our students had never been before and it was an incredible experience. It was bittersweet being my last year, but Generations is a great opportunity to get to know each other better and serves as inspiration for the rest of the year.”
