State Swimming Championships

Congratulations to Emma Colt and Charli McConvill for their awesome effort at the State Swimming Championships on Friday.  We are very proud of you both, well done.

Baby news

Congratulations to Kacey Pike (former staff member) and partner Kyle on the safe arrival of Oakley Blue during the school holidays.  Welcome to the St Kilian’s community Oakley.

Division Cross Country

The students in Grades 3 to 6 will be competing in the Regional Cross Country Championships, held at the Bendigo Race Track today. We wish all of these students the best of luck and hope they enjoy the experience.

Grade 4 Camp

Tomorrow our Grade 4 students travel to Pioneer Settlement for their camp. We hope all of the students enjoy the camp experience and the activities planned.

Bendigo Writers Festival

Grades 1, 3, 5 & 6 have the opportunity to attend the Bendigo Writers Festival tomorrow.  We hope you have a lovely time and can’t wait to hear all about the interesting presentations you participate in.

Prep Enrolments 2023

The process for enrolling new Preps for 2023 begins this term. As always, we look forward, with great excitement, to welcoming new members into the St Kilian’s community. A reminder to current parents that if you have a child/sibling who will be starting Prep in 2023 to please collect an enrolment form from the office and return it as soon as possible.

OPEN WEEK 2023

Next week is an important week for our prospective 2024 families. The school will be open from 9:15am to 11:00am each day, giving new families the opportunity to walk through the school and view all of the different learning activities that take place in the classrooms. We will be hosting a parent information evening on Tuesday 9th May, beginning at 7:00pm.

Mother’s Day

This year we will be celebrating our mothers and special friends on Friday 12th May with ‘Muffins with Mum’.  All mothers and special friends of the school are invited to attend the Mother’s Day ‘Muffins with Mum’ from 8:30am.

Mother’s Day Stall

Our Mother’s Day Stall will be on Friday 12th May.  Our Parents & Friends have organised a range of gifts for all students to purchase for their mothers or special friends.  Students are asked to bring $5 to purchase a gift.

School Uniform - Winter Uniform Transition

With the beginning of Term 2 comes the transition from summer to winter school uniform. I ask that all students are wearing the correct winter school uniform by the beginning of week three of the term. New and second hand uniforms are available from the clothing store for those families who need to purchase them. I thank the parents for their support in ensuring all students are wearing the correct school uniform and not wearing jewellery and/or items of clothing that are not part of the school uniform. Could I ask that you remain vigilant with this term. Please also note we have multiple items in our Lost Property tub for collection.

Bendigo Winter Night Shelter 2023

This is a program coordinated by Churches in Bendigo, providing ‘shelter, food and dignity’ for homeless individuals in our area.  Please google www.bwns.org.au for more information.

The St Kilian’s Parish will again be ‘host’ for this every second Wednesday at the designated venue. Each year parishioners have volunteered their time and talents to support this ‘outreach’ program in many different ways: cooking, kitchen hands, shift workers...  Can you help out? particularly with meals. You may be great at making desserts, or love making soups, or pretty good with pasta- no one person is expected to provide a whole meal.  If you are interested in supporting in any way please contact the parish office on (03) 5441 6244.

Friday Afternoon Assembly

We are excited to celebrate student learning through our Friday afternoon assembly commencing next Friday 12th May with PrepJW. During the assembly the students will showcase their learning through a presentation. Assembly will take place in the school hall and we invite the parents of PrepJW to attend.

We will start promptly at 3pm.
