Easter Chapel Service

You are invited to our whole school Easter Service on Wednesday 5 April commencing at 11.55am in the Multi-Purpose Sport Complex.  We would love to have families join us for this special celebration of Easter.

Prime Energy drinks

There has recently been significant media coverage about Prime energy drinks.  There are two different drinks that are sold under this brand name.

There is a caffeine-free, sports 'hydration' version of Prime available in Australian supermarkets and it contains a disclaimer on the label that states it is not suitable for children under the age of 15, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and should only be used under medical or dietetic supervision. 

More concerningly, there is Prime energy drink product which contains almost double the Australian legal limit of caffeine per 100ml. This product is not available for sale at retail outlets in Australia but there have been reports of online and face-to-face resellling occurring.   The Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) code limits the maximum amount of caffeine allowed in a drink to 32mg per 100ml.  A can of Prime contains double the legal limit — about 56mg per 100ml.  

This product contains dangerous levels of caffeine and highly caffeinated drinks have a range of negative physiological and cognitive effects including insomnia, increased breathing and heart rate, and restlessness.  Please be aware that we take a strong stance against any items being sold or distributed on the school site, particularly any product which is banned for sale in Australia.

School Photos

A reminder that school photographs will be taken on Monday 3 April and Tuesday 4 April. Please ensure your child returns their photo order envelope even if you are not ordering photos.  The schedule can be found here.  An email was sent home last week outlining uniform requirements for each day.

Last day of Term One

A reminder that the last day of term for Secondary students is Wednesday 5 April and the last day of term for Primary students is Thursday 6 April.  Secondary School staff will be undertaking professional development on 6 April.

Canteen  Closure for last day  Term One

The Canteen will be closed on Thursday 6 April. There will be no Flexischools recess or lunch orders available on this day. 

The Canteen will recommence in Term Two on Wednesday 26 April.
