Ball Sports Day is here again!

On Thursday the 6th of April, 2023 the staff and students of Miners Rest Primary School would like to extend an invitation to parents, family members, guardians and friends to come and watch our annual, WHOLE SCHOOL BALL SPORTS COMPETITION!

The morning festivities will begin at approximately 9:15am with all events to be held on our tennis courts at the far end of the school grounds.

Students will be required to sit with their specific house colour in year level lines so that they can quickly transition between our huge program of relays and races.

The morning will coincide with our final day of school for the term and everyone attending, including teachers, spectators and students are asked to come dressed, LOUD AND PROUD in their special house colours!

There will be a designated coffee van on site for anyone wishing to purchase a warm beverage. So please feel free to rock along with a chair or two, sit back, relax and enjoy watching our awesome students race, work together and compete to win valuable house points!

*In the event of disastrous weather the event will be postponed until a later date.  Please check your Sentral app for any updates during the final week of school.

CROSS COUNTRY

Congratulations to ALL the Miners Rest students who competed in the Eureka District Cross Country Competition at Federation University last Thursday. Runners were certainly faced with true cross country weather with competitors not only having to battle against other runners but also the wild wind and rain. In true Miners Rest fashion, our students tackled the elements and the hilly conditions to the best of their ability where finishing the course was an achievement in itself.

Well done to the following students who competed in the 2km and 3km races;

9/10 Boys – Seth C, Oliver D, Bentley M, Ned H, Cooper P, Braxton K and Harrison R

9/10 Girls – Annabel P, Victoria P, Harper J, Brooke J, Ava P

11 Boys – Xavier B

11 Girls – Layla P

12/13 Boys – Wes G, Kai G, Cooper W, Brodie W, Jet K

12/13 Girls – Airlie F, Ruby H

A special congratulations to Seth C, Oliver D, Airlie F and Ruby H who have now progressed to run in the regional competition in Warrnambool next term.

Many thanks to Mr Loader, Lauren Cornips and all of the wonderful parent helpers who braved the weather to help assist and support the team.
