Hi Folks and welcome back!
We got straight down to business in term two with the great fundraising BPS Fun Lunch last Friday. Using our new BBQs donated by Bunnings we had a stream of volunteer’s prep, cook and serve over 870 sausages. A highlight was seeing the Prep and Grade 1 students experience this for the first time with expressions ranging from bewilderment to utter excitement. Note to self for the next one: kids doing sport all morning EAT A LOT. We had a long line of students at the end hoping to get free leftovers! Massive shout out to our volunteers who were simply brilliant – see our Thank You section below. We raised close to $3000 for the school, so thank you everyone for all your generosity and support.
What’s Next?
Mother’s Day Stall this Friday 30th April. Our fabulous team – Sophie Craig and Sammy Simmonds - have been hard at work wheeling and dealing across Bayside to bring in some great gifts for the kids to purchase for their mum or special someone. We can’t take any cash payments on the day folks, so if you have forgotten to purchase a token on QKR please contact us.
Mum’s Social Trivia Night - Thursday 20th May. This is not a fundraiser, just a get together for a very relaxed night at a local Brighton pub. Get yourselves into teams of 4-6, or if you would like to join a team, email Jan and Emma at pfc@brighton.vic.edu.au. Please register your team name and numbers by Wednesday 12th May and we’ll confirm the venue - it will be local.
Lapathon – Thursday 20th May
Another great BPS tradition where kids will run/walk/jog/skip/hop their way around the junior oval to see how many laps they can do in their allotted time. All you, your friends and families need to do is sponsor them and gee them up to get out there, have fun and run like Forrest Gump. We will be seeking volunteers to help on the day so keep an eye out for Compass posts and Sign-up sheets in early May, and if you would like to be part of the small organising team, please get in touch with us.
QKR – If you haven’t already got it then we encourage you to download the QKR App to your device. PFC will run most fundraising events and payments through this platform and it is super easy to set up and use.
