Poet Chris Wallace Crabbe Visits Literature Classes
On Tuesday 22 August, acclaimed Australian poet Chris Wallace Crabbe visited the school to speak to Year 12 Literature students. Literature studies are currently studying Wallace Crabbe’s anthology of poetry and it was a rewarding experience to see the poet himself read his work aloud.
He provided rich insights to the students into how his poems were constructed and the intended meaning attached to them. Students provided a delicious morning tea which we enjoyed over a question and answer session.
Local school, Patterson River Secondary College, also attended the session and students from both schools were able to share their insight and analysis of Wallace Crabbe’s work.

Trivia Game
On Tuesday 5 September, the Senior SLC students and Year 12 International Students met up again to share lunch and play a Trivia game. The game was full of fun questions that covered Australian culture as well as many questions about countries that our International Students come from. The lunchtime game was a great way for everyone to interact and have fun. The Senior SLC students look forward to running many more lunchtime activities.
Bake Sale
Last Wednesday during Parent Student Teacher Conferences the Year 9 Semester 2 Lead Class ran a bake sale and sausage sizzle. In total we raised $533.85 and $75 was donated by the Little Olive Coffee Cart. This money will go towards the Nepean School to help repair damages caused by a recent flood.
We would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the Nepean School by purchasing something. We would also like to thank Ms Anne Thomson for helping run the BBQ.
