We would like to remind families that the last day of Term 1 is Thursday, 6 April.
Finish times are as follows:
Kinder: 12.45pm
Prep- Year 6: 12.45pm
Year 7- Year 12: 1.00pm
CANTEEN
The last day of trade for the Student Canteen will be Wednesday, April 5
CAFE
Food & Drink service will close at 12pm on Thursday, April 6
END OF TERM BUSES
Afternoon buses will depart at approx 1.10pm. Arrival times for afternoon bus users will be 2.5 hours earlier than their normal scheduled time
- ie. if your child usually arrives at their stop at 4.00pm they will be arriving at approx 1.30pm on this day.

OFFICE CLOSURE
- Reception closes at 4.15pm, Thursday, April 6 (last day of Term 1)
- Reception will be open on curriculum day, Monday, April 24, between 12.00pm – 4.15pm
- BHCS will be closed for Anzac Day, Tuesday, April 25 April
- Normal office hours will resume 8.15am on Wednesday, April 26 (Start of Term 2)
EVACUATION DRILL
The School held an evacuation drill on Monday, 27 March. Staff and students did an excellent job of getting to the evacuation point in a calm and orderly manner with all staff and students arriving in 8 minutes. These drills form part of our bushfire readiness procedures and help to ensure that everyone knows what to do should there be an emergency.
PRIMARY CLASS PHOTO RETAKE
We regret to inform Primary families that due to a technical error, SchoolPix will need to revisit BHCS next week to retake CLASS photos for Prep to Year 6. Portrait photos do not need to be retaken.
Please send your children in their Formal Uniform on Tuesday 4th April including their formal jumper. Year 4 Classes participating in the Netball Incursion may bring their Sports uniform to change into after their photograph has been taken.

EASTER SERVICE - TUESDAY 4 APRIL
The school will be holding an Easter service on Tuesday, 4 April. This is a great opportunity to bring students from all sub-schools together to celebrate such an important occasion in the life of the school. Unfortunately, this is a student only event.
VICTORIAN PREMIERS' READING CHALLENGE
This year the Discovery Centre Team and BHCS are excited to be participating in the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge in Terms 2 & 3.
Children from Prep to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ 30 books with their parents and teachers. Children from Year 3 to Year 10 are challenged to read 15 books.
All children who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers.

YEAR 11 & 12 TUTORING PROGRAM
Our tutoring program, which we are providing free to our Year 11 and 12 students, is going really well in VCE. It runs in the SLC during school hours.
We have Kim Wearing, Ben and Jono coming in weekly to provide extra expert tutoring to students. They are covering a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Legal, History, French, Physics and Chemistry.
Students are encouraged to book a session via Google classroom if they would like some extra help.
UNIFORM CHANGEOVER
Please be reminded that at the beginning of Term 2 there will be a uniform changeover period. Parents are asked to use their discretion as to which uniform is the most suitable for their child/ren to wear during the first two weeks of Term 2.
As of Monday, 8th May ALL students will be required to wear the full winter uniform.

BHCS CANTEEN
PREP – YEAR 5: The canteen is available for lunch orders on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays. Primary students (Prep - Year 5) may pre-order lunch orders via the Flexischools app only. No window service.
YEAR 6 - YEAR 12: Are welcome to order at the canteen window during recess and lunch breaks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
TREETOPS CAFE
The Café will be running every day except Wednesday. Senior students (Year 10 -12) are able to order food from the Café during break times. Only Year 11 & 12 students may use the tables and chairs in the Café.

Families are reminded to download and subscribe to the Flexischools app. This is the portal where day to day reminders and information is distributed to the school community. To subscribe to your child's 2023 class group, please follow the below instructions.
