Meet our Captains

Over the next few newsletters, we'll be progressively introducing our 2023 Year 12 Captains to the school community.  This edition, we have the pleasure in introducing Jess, Bec and Helena.

Jess S, Dance Captain

Currently studying: English, Maths, VET Dance, Psychology at Federation University

About me: I have loved to dance since I was three and am thrilled to be able to share my passion with those at our college. I aspire to become a primary school teacher after finishing high school and attending university. As dance Captain, I am assistant choreographing for our college’s production of “Freaky Friday” which has been an amazing opportunity. 

Bec L, Environment Captain

Currently studying: I am currently studying Biology, Environmental Science, Outdoor Ed, Further Maths and English. 

About me: For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been really keen about helping the environment. This year I want to leave as much of a positive impact as I can at GSC. Whether that be empowering other students to care about environmental issues, exploring new ways of reducing our school’s ecological footprint and even getting hands on outside in the yard with Sustainability club!

Helena Fix, Visual Arts Captain

Currently studying: Studio Arts, Sociology, Classics, English and Further Maths. 

About me: My future goal is to study a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT, and then move on to LaTrobe Uni to study a Master of Teaching to become a primary school teacher. In my spare time, I love creating digital art and painting while listening to my favourite music, and spending time with my friends and family.
