2023 Diocesan Winter Trials
On Friday the 3rd of March we had a number of our students travel to Tamworth to compete in the Diocesan Winter Trials. Ellie Bavea, Brianna Marshall and Callie Cameron competed in Hockey. Rachael Jackson, Khloe Martin, Charles Drew and Kayne Brennan competed in the soccer winter trials. Kayne Brennan and Rachael progressed to the possibles and probables on the day. Rachael was then selected for the Diocesan Soccer Team. Congratulations Rachael, you did so well!
Jack Wesley, Baxter Clark, Darcy Sisson and Flynn McFarlane competed in Rugby League.
Flynn McFarlane and Darcy Sisson made it through to the possibles and probables. Darcy Sisson has progressed through to play in the Diocesan Rugby League Team, well done Darcy! This is such a great achievement.
We know that Rachael and Darcy will play hard and make themselves and the school very proud.
Guyra Preston Campbell Cup
On Thursday 9th March students Scarlett Newberry, Jack Wesley, Ned Newberry, Darcy Sisson, Flynn McFarlane and Hugo Sisson took part in the Preston Campbell Cup in Guyra. This was a non-competitive event where students learnt new skills and played in a friendly league tag, under 10’s and 12’s tackle round robin. They joined with students from St Joseph’s Glen Innes, Armidale City Public School, Guyra Central School and Glen Innes Public School. We have heard that this day was a great success!
Glen Innes under 6's & under 8's League Gala Day 24th March 2023
Nominations for the Glen Innes under 6's & under 8's League Gala Day @ Mead Park Glen Innes on Friday the 24th of March 2023 are due by 20th March. This is a kids tackle ready program (A program designed to teach kids safe techniques on how to tackle) The under 6’s kids will play league tag & the under 8’s kids will play tackle.
Parents will need to accompany their own child on the day.
Students will be allocated to a team on the day. Please ensure you fill out one form per child.

House Colours
St Mary of the Angels have 3 school house colours. We encourage our students to wear these on the day of the swimming carnival (as well as all future sport events), alternatively, sports uniform can be worn. In 2023 the school house colours are:
McAuley - RED
Mercy - BLUE
Mackillop - YELLOW (previously green however this has been changed as of 2023 to not clash with the school uniform)

2023 Cross Country - 27th of April Term 2
The School Cross Country will be held on Thursday the 27th of April, Week 1 of Term 2. Children should start practicing their running in preparation for this event.
