Junior School Lantern Hub

We are very excited to announce the opening of our new ‘Lantern Hub’ learning space in the Junior School line up area.

This space will provide purpose-built areas for small groups working on their identified key learning targets. In addition, there are offices and a private room for individual testing and assessment.

Over the coming weeks we will be developing a sensory space that students can spend time in to help re-regulate and calm when needed.

The area directly outside the Lantern Hub will also be utilised for outdoor reading and social skill groups.

We would like to express our gratitude to the building talents of our Property Services Manager, Barry Figgel, who worked tirelessly during the summer holidays to build this beautiful learning environment for our students.

New signage for Children's Garden

Our children's garden now has a palawa kani sign to represent our ongoing connection to country and land!

Watch this space as more garden signs pop up over the College in the coming weeks, also featuring names written in palawa kani, the Tasmanian Aboriginal language.

Year 11/12s call it a night!

On Friday 10 March, the Year 11 and 12 students participated in the Big Night In.

An annual event, the Big Night In is coordinated by the Year 12s, who decorate the 11/12 Common Room, organise activities and order food for students to enjoy throughout the evening.

The event ran from 5.00pm until 10.00pm and included popping water balloons over the Year 11s' heads if they got quiz questions wrong, blending foods together to drink, bracelet making, creating an 'under the sea' themed video - and lots more.

We finished with a ghost tour of the school, where we heard ghost stories and learned about the spirits that still haunt the school.

The night ended with a bang, with all the Year 11s getting soaked in water balloons!
