College Swimming Carnival
The College Swimming Carnival was held on Thursday 23 February at the Olympic Pools. The participation levels and school spirit shown in the twilight carnival was outstanding. This year saw the inclusion of the volleyball event and 50 metre freestyle champion of champions. These events proved popular and were a highlight of the carnival along with the giant ball relay, year 12 noodle race and the relay events. Well done to the year 12 students who wore some great outfits in the TV and movie character theme. The leadership shown from the house captains was outstanding in encouraging and supporting our younger students. Congratulations to all age champions and to Siena house for winning the carnival. Congratulations to Abbey Trewern and Lawson Thompson who won the 50 metre freestyle champion of champion races. Also congratulations to Tilani Smith and Abbey Trewern who broke the following swimming records
Tilani Smith - 15 years 50m freestyle in a time of - 30.31, 50 metre breastroke time was 39.00 seconds 50 butterfly 32.63 seconds 100 m freestyle 106.75 seconds. Abbey Trewern also broke the 200 IM record in a time of 240.69 seconds.
The Armidale Diocese Swimming Championships will be held in Gunnedah on Thursday 9 March 2023 and we look forward to seeing some more outstanding swimmers in action.
