Meet the Board

Ms Robyn Lindsay

The Girton Grammar School Board is currently made up of nine members who are responsible for the overall strategic direction of the School.

The Board’s major responsibilities include oversight of the School’s mission and values, the Girton Grammar School Strategic Plan 2023-2028 and the Girton Grammar School Master Plan 2023-2033. The Board also has responsibilities with regard to financial oversight of the School, especially in relation to the fee structure and expansion of buildings and facilities.

The composition of the Board is broad, with a range of professional skills represented by its members. Over the next few editions of eLink, we would like to introduce our Board members to the Girton community.

My role on the Board

I am a Girton Board Director and Chair of the Governance, Risk, Compliance and Strategy Sub-committee. I joined the Board in the middle of 2020.

My connection with Girton

My husband Byron and I have two boys. Tom started in Prep at Girton and finished Year 12 in 2021, and is now at university in Adelaide. We also have Will, who started in Prep and is now in Year 12. We have been a proud Jenkinite family since 2008.

My background and experience

As the CEO at Echuca Regional Health, I am responsible for overseeing the provision of healthcare to a diverse community.

Before joining Echuca Regional Health, I served as the Chief Operating Officer at Bendigo Health, where I gained extensive experience in operational and strategic risk management in large organisations. I believe that values-based leadership is essential to the success of any organisation, and I enjoy merging this approach with effective systems and processes to ensure that healthcare services are delivered in a way that is both compassionate and sustainable.

Around 10 years ago, I completed the Australian Company Directors Course, which provided me with a comprehensive understanding of corporate governance and the skills necessary to serve on Boards effectively. Since then, I have participated in several Boards, including those in the healthcare and business sectors. Through these experiences, I have gained a deep understanding of the importance of strategic planning, financial management, and risk assessment, all of which are essential to the success of any organisation.

My motivation for joining the Board

My desire to join the Board was driven by a search for an opportunity to contribute to an organisation that shared my values and ideals and allowed me to give back to the community in a meaningful way. I am a firm believer that education, health, and business all play crucial roles in supporting a community to prosper, and I was keen to be involved in an organisation that aligned with these core beliefs.

Moreover, as a parent I have a vested interest in ensuring that my children receive the best possible education, and I am grateful to the School for providing them with an excellent start in life. Therefore, joining the Board was also a way for me to give back to the School and support its mission of providing a high-quality education to future generations.
