Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Week 6

Prep L

Elsie

For being a motivated and collaborative learner who demonstrates initiative. Elsie takes action by helping others when she has completed a task and always shows kindness! Elsie has been an amazing role model in the Prep community and is congratulated on a fantastic start to the year! Well done Elsie!

Prep N

Dhiya

For being a collaborative learner who encourages positive learning behaviours in all learning areas. Dhiya follows the Wow’s and manages her belongings to set a great example for her peers. Well done Dhiya.

Sarah

For being a motivated learner who always tries her best at learning tasks and gives everything a red hot go. In Mathematics last week, she challenged herself to try writing four digit numbers in words and figures. Sarah used resources around the room to help her reach success and remained focused throughout the entire session, removing herself from distractions. Well done Sarah.

For being a collaborative learner who makes everyone feel welcome, included and valued in our classroom community. Neville listens attentively to others, encourages those around him and treats everyone with respect. He contributes to making our classroom a safe learning space, always with a beautiful big smile on his face. Thank you, Neville.

For being a motivated learner. You are consistently engaged in learning, notably on camp you were focussed on the various fun activities available to us. You demonstrated leadership qualities and were a positive role model to your peers. Well done Ojus!

For being a resilient and motivated learner! You overcame your fears whilst on camp, facing all challenges with a growth mindset. You took advantage of all opportunities and successfully conquered stand up paddle boarding! You set a great example for the rest of your group. Keep up this risk taking and positive attitude to future challenges you may face! Fantastic work Dijana.

For being a resilient learner, who overcome travel sickness to have a fantastic time at Camp!  Trish approached everything with a smile on her face, and coped with all the challenges set including stand up paddle boarding and swimming when it was a bit cold!  Her positive attitude helped make camp even more fun!  Thanks Trish!

For being a motivated learner, Claudia you have been so motivated and passionate when it comes to PE lessons. Thank you for your enthusiasm and always encouraging others. Well done Claudia.

Adhyan

For being a motivated learner who is always focused and ready to take on tricky learning tasks with a positive attitude! Adhyan always does his best and a little bit more in his own learning, but also understands that mistakes help us to grow as learners! Well done Adhyan!

Elyana

For being a motivated learner who has been  focused during floor time and is doing her best in all learning tasks! Elyana has shown that she has already grown as a learner by demonstrating positive learning behaviours like never giving up and seeing mistakes as part of learning! Great job, Elyana.

For being a reflective learner who reads back his writing, scans for errors and edits to make improvements. Lavit has also started adding adjectives from the word wall to enhance his writing.  Keep up the fantastic work!
