Family and Friends 

Entertainment Books are still available to purchase in either a hard copy or digital copy. Books are $65 each with $13 going towards our School fundraising.  Thank you to those who have already purchased a book.

 

Fundraiser for this Term will be Billy G's Cookie Dough.  Order forms will be going home soon.

 

Fathers’ Day Raffle will be held later in the term. Donations of new items would be greatly appreciated.

 

Hotdog Days – due to increases in the cost of rolls and Hotdogs, we have had to increase the price of Hotdogs to $3.00 for one and $3.50 for two.  This is the first time the price of the Hotdogs has been increased since Hotdog days started about 5 years ago.

 

Next meeting will be held on Monday 10th August at 1.30pm in the Conference Room at the Grimshaw Campus.  

 

New members are always welcome.

Food Technology

Below is a recipe that Concord School year 7/8 students made last week.  They are learning to read and follow recipes.  

 

       ONE PAN SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE

 

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 40 minutes

Serves: 8-10 people

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg beef mince
  • 1 brown onion, chopped finely
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 carrot peeled and grated
  • 1 x 800g tin diced tomatoes
  • 1 x 400g tin condensed tomato soup
  • 1 x 500g tomato pasta sauce
  • 2 beef stock cubes, dissolved in ½ cup boiling water
  • 2 teaspoons Italian herbs
  • Salt & pepper
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 500g uncooked spaghetti, snapped in half

Method:

1.  Heat up a large deep frying pan and add the oil, add mince and cook for 5                  minutes or until meat is brown.

2.  Add onion and garlic cook for 2 minutes.

3.  Add carrot cook for 2 minutes.

4.  Add beef stock stir to combine.

5.  Add tin of tomatoes, tomato soup and tomato pasta sauce, stir to combine.

6.  Add 6 cups water and uncooked pasta, mix well.  (Water will be absorbed by the        pasta and be infused with flavour).

7.  Bring to the boil.

8.  Turn down heat and simmer uncovered for 25-30 minutes or until pasta is tender      and sauce has thickened, stir occasionally and serve when ready.
