Production Review-Ms Bracken
Bayswater Secondary College’s 2015 production again amused, impressed and wowed it’s audience. BATS told the story of a town in crisis, and their twisted plan to use Mr Dracula to create an off-beat tourist attraction. Brothers Nosher and Nasher (played by Emma and Connor) provided some hilarious slapstick humor and witty lines, and Igor (played by Harmony) showed us some excellent comic timing and facial expressions. Mr and Mrs Dracula (Jordyn and Tameika) were a formidable team, and the Mayor (Linh) kept everyone under control. Original Count Dracula (played by Vlad) was indeed terrifying, along with his zombie accomplices. All of the cast, policemen, villains, Burghers and tourists alike showed great dedication to learning their lines and their dances, with the ‘The Slap Slap Dance’ and ‘Whirlwind Global Tours’ with Bayswater Primary School as my favourites. Congratulations to make-up, backstage, cast and crew for their amazing efforts.
Production 2016
We had so much fun with 'Bats' we are already looking forward to our 2016 production. We plan to get a head start and begin to work on organising it early so watch this space!
State School Spectacular
After 2 hugely successful and fun filled shows in September we can now all get ready to try to spot our students on TV. The highlights package is being shown on Channel 7 on Saturday December 5 at 7pm.
We have also just registered our expression of interest to once again participate in the Mass Dance section of the Victorian State School Spectacular. So in 2017 we will hopefully have the opportunity to send another 20 dancers in to perform to massive audiences on the floor at Hisense Arena.
They are also taking expression of interests from students who are interested in being a solo performer. So if you are a budding singer or dancer get yourself an audition!
Expressions can be made from Monday 19 October. The link will be available at http://www.cvent.com/events/victorian-state-schools-spectacular-2016/event-summary-7f0ec99d36fe44d885c3a4e1058ac2f8.aspx
