YEAR 12 VALEDICTORY DINNER.

The 2015 Year 12 Valedictory Dinner will be held on Thursday 22nd of November at Chateau Wynna  at 7.00pm, all graduating students from the 2015 class will be presented on the night. There will also be a range of formal presentations and awards, stay tuned for all the goss and photos in the next newsletter.

Wednesday 21st October –

Last day of timetabled classes.

3.00 pm Dark Zone laser tag at Box Hill

Thursday 22nd  October -  

10.30 am  General Assembly.

11.00 am Staff/Year 12 Morning Tea.

6.30 pm Official Valedictory Class Photo at Chateau Wynna.

 7.00 pm – 9.30 pm Valedictory Dinner.

Wednesday 28th October

8.15 am Pre Exam Breakfast.

9.00 am English Exam /VCAA Exam commence.

MULLUM CLUSTER VET AWARDS.

 Once again Bayswater Secondary College was well represented at the annual Mullum Cluster VET Awards night, the school had three excellent Vocational Education and Training students nominated the areas of Early Childhood Education, (Hayley Mann) Catering Operations ( Samantha Condello) and Laboratory Skills (Tameka Jones). This means that these students have been recognized by their teachers/trainers as being in the top 5% of their classes.

 Hayley and Tameka were both deemed to be the most outstanding student in their class. For Tameka it is the second time she has won this award.

 Congratulation to the three girls.

VCE Year 11 Biology GTAC Excursion

On October 9th the Year 11 Biology students participated in an extension program at the Gene Technology Access Center. Their task was to use their scientific skills and knowledge to analyse an algal bloom issue for a farmer.  Students used pipette and microscope techniques to determine the bacteria that was present and then used PCR and gel electrophoresis to determine which of the bacteria was causing the bloom. Students then reported their findings and recommendations to the farmer.
