Mindful Colouring
Mindful colouring is a form of art therapy designed to allow you to relax and become completely submerged in the beauty of colour, the hypnotic, soothing action of colouring in and then to experience a feeling of accomplishment achieved at completion of your masterpiece.
Colouring in is an easy way to calm the mind and occupy the hands allowing your brain to focus on the present and blocking out any intrusive thoughts.
This term in the Library, we have lots of different Mindful Colouring designs for you to choose from. You can add your work to our gallery of art work on display as you enter the Senior Learning Centre or take it home to remind yourself of a calm time and place.
Come and see Paula or Cheryl at lunchtime and join in the fun of Mindful Colouring.
WORLD EDUCATION GAMES
Over four days from October 13 to October 15, students from the Junior Learning Community and Intermediate Learning Community participated in the bi-annual World Education Games. This was an opportunity to connect with students from around the globe in live mathematics, science and spelling contests. Some of the students competed against students from countries such as Ecuador, Mexico, Malaysia and Nigeria, just to name a few. This was all made possible by the team at 3P Learning (along with it’s partners Microsoft, UNICEF and Macquarie Group) who provide the Mathletics and IntoScience websites used in Junior and Intermediate classrooms. Students were to complete up to 20 games from each area to gain as many points as possible for their individual points tally and for the school as a whole. Bayswater’s highest performing students included Lynn Pham, Darren Newton and Aidan Pender in Year 7, Jasmine Hall, Layla Klein and James Lalor in Year 8 and Tara Hillam, Sophie Klein, Bailey Tanski and Jennifer Vo from Year 9 and 10.
