Polding Swimming Carnival

Last week many of our talented swimmers competed at the Polding Swimming Carnival in Sydney. The Armidale Diocesan Swimming team consisting of Ava Macey, Olivia Turner, Harrison George, Matthew Coleman, Angus Manchee, Gilbert Tighe, Zara Cogan, Will Sciban and Roger Vickery competed extremely well against some tough competition from Bathurst, Broken Bay, Lismore, Maitland/Newcastle and Wilcannia/ Forbes Diocese. The students results were as follows:

Harrison George- 2nd 100m Freestyle, 3rd 50m Freestyle, 3rd Senior Boys Relay

Ava Macey- 1st 12 Years Breaststroke, 14th 12 Years Butterfly

Olivia Turner- 12th 11 Years Breaststroke

Matthew Coleman- 3rd Senior Boys Relay, 10th 12 Years Backstroke

Angus Manchee- 3rd Senior Boys Relay

Gilbert Tighe- 3rd Senior Boys Relay

Zara Cogan- 2nd 12 Years Breaststroke

Will Sciban- 5th 12 Years Breaststroke

Roger Vickery- 15th Junior Boys Breaststroke

Our extremely talented Senior Boys Relay Team consisting of Angus Manchee, Matthew Coleman, Gilbert Tighe and Harrison George have qualified for the NSW CPS Swimming Carnival. Ava Macey and Zara Cogan have also qualified to represent Polding at the NSW CPS Swimming Carnival in Homebush. Well done to all of our swimmers who swam on the day and we wish our Polding swimmers all the best at the next level of competition.

The runners in Years 3-6 who placed in the top six are now eligible to attend the Armidale Diocesan Cross Country, which will be held in Barraba next term. A big thank you to all of our parent helpers who assisted on the day.
