S.A.S.C. Instrumental Music students perform at St Albans Meadows Primary School

On Monday, October 12, seventeen of our Instrumental Music students attended the week’s full-school assembly at St Albans Meadows Primary School.

Our students were invited to play for the assembly by St Albans Meadows Primary School’s Performing Arts coordinator, Ms Emilia Rio-Scaddan.

Three of our school groups performed: the senior vocal ensemble, Lux Harmonie, S.A.S.C.’s Glee Club (both directed by Ms Kristina Sungmongkol) and the Year 8 Band (directed by Mr Sam Agostino). Lux Harmonie performed two pieces: Ubi Caritas by Ola Gjeilo, and You Raise Me Up by Rolf Lovland. The Glee Club performed a medley of Hush Hush by The Pussycat Dolls and the Gloria Gaynor song, I Will Survive. The Year 8 Band played I’m Still Into You by Paramore.

All of the musical items were received very enthusiastically by the St Albans Meadows Primary School community, and Ms Rio-Scaddan spoke very warmly of our groups’ contribution to the assembly.

The following students performed at the St Albans Meadows Primary School assembly:- Andrew Bui (Year 12) Alyssa Pedroso (Year 11) Rachel Pinto (Year 9) Oli Hakai Lavea, Leon Ng, Johnny Nguyen, Michelle Nguyen, Kristine Pham Dang, Andrea Pido (Year 8) and Alisha Chhem, Chloe Le-Dodd, Nina Ngo, Thao-Nhi Nguyen, Trisha Pido, Kiandra Tauali’I, Ivy Tran, and Elaine Ah Soon (Year 7).

Congratulations to all the students involved, as well as many thanks to Ms Sungmongkol and Mr Agostino for their excellent direction and coaching of the performers.

Thankyou to Andrew Bui (Year 12) for his invaluable assistance in organising students, and liaising with all staff associated with this event. We will miss his varied skills next year, and I wish him all the very best in his endeavours beyond St Albans Secondary College.
