Book in a Bag Competition Winners

The following students consistently had a Just Right Text in their bag for Tutorial Group and English during Term 3, and received a $30 Woodgrove voucher for their efforts. Book In A Bag will continue next term, so please ensure all Staughton students have a Book In Their Bag every day!

Congratulations to the following students for winning our Book In A Bag competition:

Jack Sipthorp 7J

Janae Harrington 8H

Katelyn Macleod 9B

Allysia Hayes 10J

Did you know that students at Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 are expected to have a Just Right reading book in their schoolbag, every day of the week?

Student leaders are visiting classroom during tutorial time throughout Term 3 to check that students have a ‘Book In A Bag’. If they do, they are automatically entered into Staughton’s ‘Book In A Bag’ competition with prizes up for grabs!

Research tells us that reading for 20 minutes a day significantly improves vocabulary and comprehension skills, which is beneficial for all subjects and (importantly) for life after school too. If students don’t have a Just Right text, please encourage them to go to the school library, borrow a book, and be in the running to win!
