NDIS

On Tuesday night 19th July at Concord school the year 12 students and their parents attended a coaching session on how to communicate their individual goals and support needs with their NDIS Planner to obtain funding for next year.  This is  a new as part of our transitioning process for students leaving school.  In the past this funding was through DHHS and the FFYA initiative.

After much intensive work our students are now well equipped with a decision about which post school option service to use and individually written goals and support requirements.  It is vitally important that this information is relayed by our students and their parents in the correct way so they can receive the appropriate amount of funding to achieve their goals.   Gaynor Martyn organised this coaching session using  staff from VALID (Victorian League for Individuals with a Disability).  The Transition building  was packed and we all eagerly learnt together. Out students did really well to last the distanceand now have lots more work to do with Gaynor and their parents.

Family & Friends

A big thank-you to all who purchased Billy G cookie dough, we raised $410.00.   Well done!

Thank-you to the many volunteers, Viv, Bonnie, Kylie, Karen, Leigh, Vida and Sue who helped make the Bundoora Campus Footy Day  a huge success.

An update on the $500.00 the FFA donates to each level per year, lower Primary recently bought a variety of super doper maths resources and the specialists used their money  to fund a secondary 7/8 joint art/food tech excursion to the museum.

There are still entertainment books to purchase- some great savings in the book for the cost of $65.00.

There is still a giant freddo frog up for grabs for anyone interested in joining the FFA, contact me on denise.w196@gmail.com.
