Introducing MGC’s 2019 House Production

What is House Production?

House Production is our biannual production, created by students for all students! Students work collaboratively in their allocated House to devise, rehearse and perform an original performance of 20 minutes. Students can choose to specialise in their area of interest- performing, directing, scriptwriting or backstage doing lighting, sound, sets, props and/or costumes. All welcome!

We are definitely off to GIJ in Mount Gambier in Term 2, Friday 3rd- Sunday 5th May!

A huge thank you to all parents for their support in making this happen.

Tony Hicks will be leading the band, who will be competing in Stageband Division 4 +. They are currently rehearsing on Mondays and Wednesdays before school

Ellyce Calder and Susan de Jong are preparing our vocal students in Division 4 of the Vocal Ensemble and they are rehearsing on Thursday lunchtimes.

If parents could please complete the medical information listed on Compass via Chronicle Insights by the 22nd March, that would be very much appreciated.

Please find equipment checklist attached below.

Special mention to Jamila, who has performed at MGC’s Pedal Power cinema every year since Year 8!

Our Soul Band also performed, featuring their new vocal line up of Sonia Li, Maddy O’Bryan, Arianna Camillacci and Alex Morris, ably supported by Marissa Di Marzio (Drums) Jean Palamara (percussion) Caitlin Moloney (bass) Isabella  Rogers- Headicar (piano) Aimee Stranks and Lucia Stella (Guitar). Thanks to their leader, Andy Clarke.

It was very special to have Gaby Cronin-Pagano, an alumni student, also perform and parent of alumni students Bella and Ruby Vadiveloo, Peter Vadiveloo, conclude the musical entertainment.

The crowd appreciated the open mic performance of the boys from Xavier too.

It was lovely to see so many past MGC students in the crowd. A huge thank you to DIY Hi Fi for doing the sound so professionally- Richie, Monkey, Phil and their dog, Finnegan.

Thanks to all parents and students for their support- it was a fabulous night.
