SENIOR SCHOOL CAREER MEETINGS

Thank you to all students who have returned their 2021 Year 11 or Year 12 Careers Interview Questions sheet to me.  Also to our Year 10 students who have made contact, well done!  I am working my way through set appointment times, and will endeavour to meet with each of you before the end of term.  Look out for your calendar invite.

2021 VET NEWS

Welcome to 2021.  St Joseph's College currently has 70 students undertaking a VET course to prepare them for a career in their chosen profession.  A VET course will cover you for the trades; plumbing, building, electrical, engineering and automotive, right through to service industries such as community services, health, hospitality and beauty.  Specialised courses such as Rural Operations, Animal Studies and Design are also available.

WHY CHOOSE VET?

VET is a good alternative for students wanting to get into their chosen career quickly, and who are not planning to attend University.  VET allows you to study your profession and progress your learning through undertaking further certification.  VET can be be incorporated into VCE studies as well.

Students who are VET qualified in their trade or service industry are attractive to employers and commence earning higher wages than a new worker entering an industry without a qualification.

VET studies are portable and are offered nation-wide, and all courses can be modified if needed to suit your personal learning style.

If you are considering undertaking a VET course, please have a chat with me and I can tell you more.
