Digital Learning

Creating Safe 21st Century Learners

After last year many of us are exhausted by electronic learning, while we all learned a great deal about connecting online. How would we have managed a successful year without technology?

One of the big concerns as a parent and teacher of digitally connected youth is how can we keep them safe? Over the coming year I hope to engage our community to become a safer space, with students who are safe and ethical users of technology.

CESC has been a registered eSmart school for a number of years, and we are currently revisiting the process to ensure we are still compliant. I look forward to sharing strategies and ideas to help keep our young people safe in this digital world.

Six years ago the eSafety Commissioner was launched as a resource for parents, educators and the community to make sure what steps can be taken if there is any online bullying, harassment or inappropriate behaviour.

The eSafety Commissioner site has specific links for parents to support their children in dealing with a range of issues:

If there is something specific you would like more information or support with , please let me know and I will see what I can find. Also if you are interested we can organise some online, or face to face sessions to support you in supporting your children.
