VCE PROCESSES
Progress Reports
In senior school, individual student performance will be monitored and reported every three weeks by their teacher. Parents can access these via compass reports. This will ensure parents are informed of their child’s progress, get regular feedback and identify any concerns that may arise.
VCE Attendance
It is expected that all senior school students meet the 95% attendance requirements. If your child is absent, please contact the college or update with a reason via compass. If students are missing a SAC on the day they MUST provide a medical certificate.
VCE SACs and Redemption Process
All students are required to complete SACs (School Assessed Coursework) to meet their outcomes and requirements for VCE. Students are required to hand in their coursework 48 hours prior to a SAC. If the student does not hand in their coursework by the due date, and they do not reach the 50% requirement on their assessment task they will receive an N for that outcome and an N for the Unit.
Parents can access all SAC dates via compass calendar and they will also get notifications of missing coursework leading up to SAC dates.
Redemption allows students to ‘redeem’ the task and have a second opportunity to pass the assessment task and meet the outcome. Redemption is scheduled on Monday’s after school from 3:15-4:15 and parents will be notified if their child is required to attend redemption.
VCAL Redemption
Students who are behind on coursework or have missed deadlines for tasks are required to attend VCAL Redemption on a Thursday from 3:10pm to 4:10pm. Redemption runs in OP03/OP04 and parents will be notified if their child is required to attend redemption.
Homework Club
Homework club runs every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00pm in the yellow study space. Students can get extra assistance from their teachers during this time or catch up on any outstanding coursework.
Parents and Compass
Compass is a great tool for communication with the College. Parents can access Compass for the following:
- Approve and give reasons for absences
