Steps 2 Success

All year 10 students participated in three Steps 2 Success lessons with a focus on preparing for Work Experience which will be the 13th to 17th September (final week of term 3). It is a requirement all students attend Work Experience as it prepares students for the workforce and provides a valuable learning experience.

By now, students should have completed the following in preparation for Work Experience:

  • Completed online Safe at Work Modules including: General Modules & Industry Specific (found via Career Tools on Compass OR can also google website). Printed certificates and handed to Home Group teacher or Cass in the 9/10 Admin Office.
  • Contacted potential Work Experience placement options via email, call or visiting in person. Ask family friends or other connections if they will take student for a week of Work Experience.
  • Confirm Work Experience placement by taking Blue Form to work placement and getting signed and returned to Cass in the 9/10 Admin Building.
  • If needing help for any of these steps – speak with your Home Group teacher, Year Level Leaders or book an appointment with Jennelle in the Careers team. We are all happy to help for those who ask!

Precal Induction Night

Thank you to all the families and students who attended the Precal Induction night. Families heard from a range of speakers who shared the plan for the year ahead and potential pathways in the future including applying for Head Start.

It is fantastic to hear so many positives for student engagement and achievement in their learning and personal / social development including taking on leadership on VET days. We all look forward to hearing about the amazing experiences this group will have in the future!

Formal

Year 10 Captains are busy thinking and preparing ideas for the Formal theme. The Captains have been taking ideas from their Home Group and sharing with their leadership group and Ms Candy to plan for the event in the middle of the year.

Sport

Well done to all the students who have represented the College for Cricket, Cross Country, Swimming and on the Intermediate Sports day. It is fantastic to see so many students taking up the sporting opportunities!
