Athletics Carnival

CESC hosts the whole school House Athletics Carnival each year where students have the opportunity to participate in events to gain points for their house and also to gain entry into the Division Athletics team. In 2021 the Carnival will include both traditional Athletics events and new to this year it will include novelty activities, music and stalls. These stalls could include face paint, BBQ, food such as cakes and muffins, fairy floss, wellbeing etc. and be accessible to all students.

FOOD PURCHASED FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VENUE (eg. UBER EATS) WILL BE STORED AND GIVEN TO THE STUDENTS AT END OF DAY.

Students will walk to Casey Fields from school with staff. The day will begin with a Welcome to Country Ceremony before the Athletics events commence. At the conclusion of the event students will be dismissed from the venue at (3.00pm). Parents and Carers are asked to organise pick up or arrangements with their child. There will be staff walking back to the School and students can walk with them if they need to come back to the College.

This event is a whole school event and all students are expected to attend. There will be no classes at school on this day. Personal belongings are brought to, and kept at school, entirely at their owner’s risk. Phones and headphones should not be used or visible. Loud speakers will be confiscated. The College will not accept any responsibility for theft, loss or damages.

NAPLAN 2021 (Year 7 & 9)

As children progress through their school years, it is very important that checks are made along the way to see how well they are learning the essential skills of reading, writing and mathematics – skills that will set them upon the path to success as adults.

NAPLAN is a point-in-time assessment that allows parents to see how their child is progressing in literacy and numeracy against the national standard and compared with their peers throughout Australia. At the classroom level, NAPLAN provides additional information to support teachers’ professional judgement about student progress.

Federal, state and territory education ministers agreed to gradually transition NAPLAN online by 2022. NAPLAN Online is a tailored test that adapts to student responses, providing better assessment and more precise results. At Cranbourne East Secondary College, we will be completing our test using the online format. Attached below is an document with a series of frequently asked questions regarding scheduling, use of test results and supports for your child.
