Careers

The Careers Department of the College is an important resource for all students and their parents and carers.   Research indicates that parents are the single greatest influence on their child’s education and career decisions so the more confident you feel in providing the correct career information, the more likely your sons will turn to you for advice.

Your starting point should be the College Careers Website.  It contains a huge amount of information about jobs, careers, university and TAFE related - plus there is so much more!  It even has its own dedicated section for parents.

THE MORRISBY PROGRAM

Next term the College will again offer all Year 10 students the opportunity to undertake the Morrisby Profile to assist with their future careers and subject selections.

What is the Morrisby Profile?

The Morrisby Profile is one of the most widely-known and sophisticated services in careers guidance. For the past 50 years, Morrisby has been at the forefront of assessing aptitudes, learning  and personal working styles, to inspire and help people make informed decisions about their careers.   Morrisby Online is an assessment tool for determining how strengths, interests, and personality can help direct students toward appropriate career paths. The Morrisby Profile has been used extensively in schools across Australia, and adds real value to our Careers Program at the College.  Parents can view a sample profile report here.  You can also view this video https://youtu.be/uhBHrtaaHs8.

Feedback Sessions

Each student will have a 30 minute feedback interview with a trained Morrisby Careers Counsellor to explain and discuss the results of the test. All Year 10 students from both the Mentone and Bentleigh East campuses will undertake the testing and receive feedback interviews.  More information will follow.
