Sport

What are We Learning this Term?

This Term our senior students are learning the skills required for Cricket, Basketball and Oztag. The students will be learning the skills required to play the games before putting them into game practise. Our junior students are continuing to refine their fundamental movement skills through circuits as well as learning game based skills and team games. During our team games, there is a major focus on teamwork and working together to complete tasks. This context provides a great space for students to step out of their comfort zone and express themselves positively to assist their team while completing movement challenges.

Athletics Carnival

What a great two days we had!!! It was very inspiring to watch our students step up and have a go at the events on the day. There were some magnificent performances on the day and the sportsmanship and encouragement shown by the students on the day was fantastic. A huge thank you to our teachers for all chipping in and helping out on the day to ensure that the students a had a great time. Congratulations to Dwyer on winning the 2020 Athletics Carnival and well done to our age champions. If you haven’t seen the race videos on our school Facebook page get on and check it out. A massive thank you to Mr Wharton for putting the videos together.

This year any students wishing to compete in the championship 50m races, will need to nominate before the day for the strokes they would like to compete in. This is done so that students can be put into heats for the day. Students will nominate for their races during HPE classes.
