From the Principal

Book Week has come and gone, but I hear that many were inspired by 'The Queen' and are already planning for next year. When Teacher Librarian Marylouise Jones made her first appearance as the Queen of Hearts at the Monday morning Junior School line-up, there was an audible, collective gasp. Mrs Jones, you were majestic, and you inspired many to join in!

As usual, staff and students enjoyed the antics of the Wednesday parade, and the 'Drop Everything and Read' activity was a positive community building opportunity. We work hard at St Mary's and it is so important to have opportunities to be silly and have fun. Of all the activities that students experience at school, no doubt they will remember the hilarity and creativity of Book Week. At the end of the day they were exhausted, but happy!

I ask myself, 'what did they learn?' and although I could make a long list of reasonable answers, the best answer is probably 'they learnt how much fun it is to have fun'.
