Vaping and Young People

The use of e-cigarrettes, or vaping, is becoming increasingly common amongst young people. Vaping is the inhaling of vapour from these devices and it does lead to harmful consequences, including lung damage. I urge all parents to have a chat with their teen about the dangers of this.

For more information please take the time to read the attached vaping fact sheets from the Lung Foundation Australia.  If this fact sheet has raised some issues, please seek support from your medical practitioner or one of the following services:

Urgent Request for Life Skills Go:

Students in Years 7, 8 & 9 are using the Life Skills Go platform to support their wellbeing. This includes a quick emotional check-in period one and four each day. After checking in students do a short activity to prepare them for learning.

Your child needs access to a laptop and headphones for period one and four classes every day. Some students are not bringing laptops and headphones. It is essential for students to bring requested items to class, otherwise they do not get the full benefit of the program. Can you please remind your child to bring their laptop fully charged and headphones to school?

Please contact Leanne Halsall, Frazer Thomas or Rosa Neri if you are having any difficulties organising a laptop or headphones for your child.
