Captains' Corner

Faith & Mission - Jethmi Almeida and Chris Kelly

Hello everyone!

We hope you're all doing well!

During the last few weeks of term 1, both of us have been able to help out with fundraising for Caritas. This involved organising and selling tickets for the raffle with Jess Edwards. The student winners of the Project Compassion Raffle are as follows:

First Prize (NY Yankees Jacket) – Sharomy Jinendran

Second Prize (Self-care Hamper) – Nadine Pelayo

Third Prize (Self-care Hamper) – Laura El Bazi

Fourth Prize (Juicy Couture Clutch) – Tameka Haggett

and the staff are:

First Prize (Hamper) – Andrew Dias

Second Prize (Trio of Framed Prints) – Andrea Newman

We thank those who participated in the raffle and hope you all enjoyed the prizes!

We both were also privileged enough to be able to attend the St Patrick's Cathedral Mass for Catholic week late last term, and St Patrick's Day. As well as to be in the presence of our fellow Catholic schools across Victoria while attending the holy mass presented by the Archbishop. Finally, on the 23rd of April, ourselves, the College Captains and House Captains were able to meet some of the Lasallian leaders around Australia, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan and New Zealand where we were able to discuss leadership skills as well as strategies to better work on ourselves, with each other, and how best to serve our school.

During the first few weeks of this term, we have been able to help out with fundraising money for Mother's Day which in total we collected $155. In the next few weeks we will be fundraising money for MAD Day which will help people across the world who are in most need of help. We ask that if possible students can try and fundraise upto $20 but even as small as $1 can change a life.
