Term 2 Week 4 2022 - Friday 20th May
What have we been up to?
And just like that, it’s Week 4. We are all proud of how well students have adjusted into the normal school routine after the swimming program in Weeks 1 and 2. We have had a few exciting events in the last two weeks including the School Hoodie Day to raise awareness for people with Autism. Many students brought gold coins to raise money for Amaze and our classes reflected on how our differences make us special. We are also excited to have started our new film making process with our amazing director Bruce! Every class has now seen their script and are excited to have been given their role. It will be exciting to start rehearsing our scripts this term as the movie making process comes to life.
Here are some photo highlights from the fortnight that was!

What’s coming up?
Reading
In Reading, over the next two weeks students will be investigating a range of different language features. They will be looking into the purpose of adjectives and how adjectives can be used to create a mental picture for the reader and add interest. Students will also be identifying graphs, digraphs and trigraphs in different texts and looking at how different combinations impact the way a word is pronounced.
Writing
Over the next two weeks in writing, students will begin to explore Narratives writing. They will explore and break down the structure of a narrative and begin to build and develop their knowledge of Narrative texts and what a Narrative looks like. They will also be finalising their learning about Description texts by writing a Description text about an animal of their choosing.
Maths
In Math, the students will revisit Addition and Subtraction strategies and practise using them on a variety or number and worded problems. They will also look at data and how they collect it and represent it in a number of graphs.
Inquiry & Science
In Inquiry, students will continue exploring differences and similarities between the past and the present. They will continue looking at old technology and how it has changed the way we communicate and use computers. In Science students will investigate changes in the landscape. They will learn to identify changes that happen because of nature and those that occur because of humans.
