AUTUMN CONCERT

Last Thursday, the college community came together for our annual Autumn Concert and were treated to performances from our entire Music Program. Students in the Guitar Ensemble, The Choir, The Rookie, Concert and Symphonic Band, the Stage Band as well as our String Orchestras enjoyed a packed out audience of supportive parents and friends showing that our thriving Music Program is fast outgrowing our humble auditorium.

We’d like to give our sincere thanks to Dion Beauglehall and the Tech Crew who, year after year, give of their time and expertise to help make our concerts run so smoothly.

We’d like to thank all those who came along and supported our students in their performances and we look forward to bringing you all together again in the spring.

MUSIC SUPPORT GROUP

Over the last 2 years, sadly, we have not been able to meet or run activities which has meant that there have been a few members drop off.

We are now trying to rebuild our group again in the hopes to create a team of parents who can provide some support to our kids and the college in the Instrumental Music Program.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE

We run a weekly sausage sizzle at recess every Friday. It brings in some much needed funds for our program which goes towards the maintenance of the instruments and equipment. We would love it if parents could volunteer a couple hours to help out.

A Sausage in bread with onion and sauce sells for $2.50.

EVENTS

Usually, the role of the Music Support Group at our concerts is to help with ticket collection and money on the door, setting up supper for the intermission, stagehands, and general assistance with equipment. We run our Annual Autumn and Spring Concerts and at the end of the year we host an outdoor Summer Concert in the courtyard along with a sausage sizzle.

If any of these interest you, we'd love to hear from you. Please get in touch with me in the Music Office.

GUITAR ENSMEBLE

There will be a change for the Guitar Ensemble after the Autumn Concert in that Christian Meyer and Rob Gaston will run two separate groups. Returning to the model from last year. RGA's group on Monday after school. CME's group will run Tuesday morning before school. Thanks for your understanding. It's been such a massive effort from staff to manage such a large group. We hope that next term is more cohesive.

NEVR CONCERT

The Symphonic Band lead by Ben Muddyman will be collaborating with Danny Van Bergen at Wantirna College for the NEVR Concert this year. Both schools combining their Symphonic Bands will give us a chance to learn from other like schools as well as to showcase our wonderful sounding Band for this year's concert at Hamer Hall. We will keep parents informed about this wonderful opportunity.
