Year 4 Learning in Maths

The Year 4 students explored the topic of Money and Financial Mathematics this week. Over the course of the week, they encountered a range of real life scenarios including creating their own lunch order from the canteen and planning for a party within a budget. The Year 4 students used a range of skills, including aligning their digits accurately, calculating change and determining ‘best buys’ to fit within their allocated budget. They utilised strategies to calculate change, such as the ‘count back’ strategy.
