PROFESSOR  BUNSEN  SCIENCE  INCURSION

As part of National Science Week celebrations, our whole school enjoyed an incursion with the fantastic Professor Bunsen.  Each year level attended a show tailored to the Physical or Chemical Science focus for their year level.   Professor Bunsen kept us all on the edge of our seats with interactive and exciting demonstrations of chemical changes, forces and motion, states of matter, or electricity and energy.   It is fair to say that students and teachers alike enjoyed the incursion. We all experienced how fun and amazing Science can be.

Jordan 4C – The science incursion was fun. We got to learn all about gravity and invisible force. I also learnt that China, Korea and Japan’s trains have no wheels.

Max R 4B – I didn’t know you could do so many things with gravity. I liked how he showed us about how a car engine works.

Roy 4B – It was interesting how he showed us how a hoverboard could be made using air.

SCIENCE WEEK

STEM CHALLENGES AND AWARDS

In our classrooms during National Science Week, each year level has participated in some STEM challenges.

These challenges were designed to test student creativity and problem-solving skills, communication and teamwork skills, and their persistence in improving outcomes or design. As a result of their performance during these activities, as well as their demonstrated enthusiasm for all things Science, two students from each year level will receive our Excellence in Science Award.

We look forward to presenting these at assembly on Friday 18th August.
