Miss Justine Goonan

Parents and Carers

It was difficult to make the decision to postpone the birthday celebrations for our school this week.  However, the wellbeing of our community is a high priority and we will find another time for celebrations in Term Four.

COVID is still with us unfortunately so lets be diligent in looking after each other but considering our options for booster vaccinations through your GP and Corryong Health.

As with any illness, we ask that you keep your child away from school when they are ill and notify the school administration team.  COVID test kits were sent home last week and we have plenty of spare kits if you need to do further testing.

Monday 21st August is a School Closure Day for the students. The teachers will be working with Adrea O'Connor from the Catholic Education Office.  Our focus will be on data analysis of our literacy and numeracy data sets to help inform our teaching.

We celebrate the richness in books and literature next week and we hope you can engage with the activities planned.  The Book Fair is a good opportunity to purchase some new books and the Book Parade on Wednesday will be fun for our students and staff. Don't forget to come to Story Night on Tuesday evening at 5:30pm.  Students can wear PJ's if they choose to.

School Photos will be on Friday 25th August.  Please ensure your child is wearing a full winter school uniform for the photos. Photo order packs were sent home last Monday.

Enrolments for 2024

We have commenced our processes for accepting enrolments for the 2024 school year.  We have invited the Pre-School students to a 'Come and Try' day at the school on Wednesday 13th September and we will hold a Parent Information Session at 5:30pm that evening. School tours will be conducted at 5:00pm.

School Registration Review

The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA) will attend our school on Wednesday and Thursday to examine all aspects of our school operations.  This process ensures we are compliant with all regulations so that we can maintain our registration as a school. Ms Goonan has been working for many months to prepare for this review.

I will be working onsite on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday while Ms Goonan is on Leave for the remainder of the term. You can contact me directly at jquinn@shcorryong.catholic.edu.au or through the office on 60761138.

Ms. Goonan will not be available for contact during this time. We keep her in our prayers and thoughts during this sad time.
