A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Athletics Carnival

We were blessed with a beautiful sunny day for our annual Athletics Carnival last Thursday. Many thanks to Mrs Bartholomew for her great organisation of this day and to Michelle Cortis and Jenni Hird for coordinating the canteen. It was wonderful to see so many parents and grandparents cheering the students on. Thank you also to the parents who volunteered to help either as an official or in the canteen. Finally, a huge thank you to our students for your enthusiasm and sportsmanship. I was very impressed with the team spirit so evident throughout the day. Once again the marching and war cries were amazing!

Grandparents' Day

It was lovely to see so many grandparents join us for mass, classroom visits and morning tea last Friday. A number of grandparents travelled many hours to be here which made the day extra special for the students.

A Special Kindy Celebration

This Friday our Kindy students will have attended school for 100 days. All of these students have settled into school so well and their learning gains are very impressive. Congratulations to Miss Pilgrim for making learning so engaging for our students.

This week I am interviewing Kindy students and their parents for the class of 2024. Please get the word out to your family and friends to contact Kate to make an appointment ASAP.

NAPLAN

Today Year 3 & Year 5 students will bring home NAPLAN results. This year proficiency standards replace the previous reporting in numerical bands. Students' results are measured against 4 levels of proficiency: Exceeding, Strong, Developing and Needs Additional support. These standards provide clear information about student achievement and will allow teachers and parents to easily identify areas of strength and any areas that need extra support. Please don’t hesitate to talk to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s achievement.

Have a happy and healthy week
