Secondary Community News

Lower Secondary (Years 7-8)

During weeks 9 and 10, the Year 7/8’s have been busy participating in their swimming program and competing their potatoes in the Potato Olympics!

We started our eight day swimming program on Monday the 12th of August, and went to Paul Saddler Swimland in Hillside. Everyone was excited to learn new skills and have fun with their friends! Students were split into four different groups, with each group focusing on different swimming skills. Everyone participated well in the swimming program, through learning new skills, being safe at the pool and having fun.

In the Potato Olympics, students have created a profile on their Potato Olympian to participate in various sporting events. Each Potato Olympian competed against one another in diving, weightlifting, running and spinning. We compared results in our classes, to see who got Gold, Silver and Bronze in each class.

Well done 7/8’s on a fantastic Term 3!

Upper Secondary (Years 9-10)

The Hungry Jackson Café

The year 9/10 classes were divided into four groups Service, Production, Finance and Marketing. A warm welcome from the Service team, provided a good atmosphere to start. The tables were decorated, and orders taken for delivery or dine in. With a fiery passion from the Production team, cooked delicious dishes of Angel pasta and the Pasta La Vista. With their great money skills, the Finance team collected payment after every meal. The Marketing team provided all the adds, posters and websites to bring to you, the customers for you to enjoy The Hungry Jackson Café.

The 9/ 10 City Challenge

Last Friday the 9/10s went into the city by train. We had a list of places to visit, take photos and answer questions. We visited the MCG, Victoria Market, NGV and Melbourne Central. We had a great lunch at Melbourne Central before returning to school.

A great end-of-term activity.
