HPSC Health Forum

On Thursday October 17th, a Health Forum was held with parents and students transitioning from the Noble Park English Language school. It was a productive time focusing on the topic of How to Access Healthcare both at school and outside of school and parents had to opportunity to suggest topics for further Health sessions. Kaye Walker took parents on a tour of the Smile Squad dental bus and the Doctors in Schools clinic where they met the doctor and practice nurse for a chat.

Many thanks to Feroz for his excellent interpreting skills and to Rehana and the MEA team who helped pull this together and assisted on the day.

Australian Red Cross

In October, HP collected donations from staff for the Red Cross Migration Support Programs food pantry. Thank you to staff who donated and to the Australian Red Cross for their certificate of appreciation.

Health Pop Up

To increase our Health Promotion focus, targeting key areas of concern Kaye & Prue set up - on Thursday at lunchtime - a Health Pop Up near Mabo House in the CRC.

Students were encouraged to come and ask questions and access health information about anything health related.  It was a busy  day with more than 40 students checking in to have a quick chat and collect information. We will be popping up again near Walton house in the near future.
