On the Wednesday 31st of August 2022, the Year 9 Students had the opportunity to learn about the education opportunities available in Harvester Technical College. Harvester is a trade school where they provide training and education in areas including Engineering, Electrotechnology, Carpentry and Plumbing. Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) at all three levels, Foundation (Year 10), Intermediate (Year 11), and Senior (Year 12), are all taught in Harvester. These subjects available are taught by experienced staff and are spread between trade and VCAL teachers. An expectation that all students are to wear full

uniform is compulsory and are exclusively purchased in Harvester college.

The amazing aspect of the educational experience in Harvester, is that they cater to those who have an interest in completing more of a Hands-on Learning experience. If you choose to take up Carpentry, their facility contains high end machinery, as well as tools and equipment, relevant to the trade. An education in Plumbing allows students to

experience working with pipes, fittings & fixtures, roofing, guttering, and much more. High end machinery is also available to students who wish to complete Engineering, and Electrotechnology will teach you wiring and soldering techniques, which can be applied on full size house frames.

The students also had the ability to have a walk-through of the college, where a demonstration was provided on the key aspects of the facility itself. This also provided students with the ability to observe some of the tools and machinery they may be working with. Furthermore, the students were treated to testimonials and experiences from Harvester College students, who were also past students at Brookside College.
