Acting Principal’s Message

Disco Inferno!!!

There was only one place to be last Friday night - the Robbie Mac gym for the annual school disco! Guided by the multi-talented Sam (coincidentally our recent cybersafety educator), our students tore up the dance floor and boogied the night away.

The gym looked amazing and no stone had been left unturned in setting things up for a great night. Sincere thanks to Kat Dowson and Kim Little for your roles as key organisers of this event, ably supported by Elizabeth from the PFA and a huge team of willing helpers. Thanks also to an intrepid group of staff who came along to offer support and the odd stern look throughout the night.

2022 DET School Review

Our DET School Review is progressing nicely, with the shape of our next four-year Strategic Plan beginning to take shape. Wednesday of this week saw the review panel meeting with many key school groups to gather more information about what we are doing well and how we may be able to improve further.

Thank you to the group of parents who gave up some time for us after school drop-off on Wednesday to meet with the panel - they very much enjoyed the opportunity to hear your stories and experiences at Robbie Mac.

The panel also met with groups of students, teachers and support staff throughout the day, as well as observing literacy and numeracy lessons being taught in 1/2 and 3/4 classes.

Our reviewer, David Mann, has commented a number of times about how impressive our students are in their behaviour, confidence, attitude and compassion - a massive credit to the families we are so fortunate to have make up our school population.

Planning for 2023

A reminder that if your family is planning some new adventures for 2023 that may include moving on from Roberts McCubbin PS, we would very much appreciate your letting us know as soon as possible.

Student enrolment numbers have a direct impact on staffing budgets so advance notice of departing families greatly assists our planning.

Likewise, if you are aware of families who are planning to join RMPS next year and haven't enrolled yet, please encourage them to do so at their earliest convenience.
