Middle Unit -2/3
Wow! What an amazing start to the term!
Camp was an absolute success and the Middle Unit teachers are so proud of each and every student for what they achieved on camp. There were new friendships formed, fears faced, acrobatics performed and more food eaten than I ever thought possible! On the middle day, we had breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert! I felt like a hobbit with so many meal breaks!
Special thank you to all our parent helpers, who were amazing!
The students voted on their favourite activity…it came out as a tie between the giant swing and the zipline. Most, if not all, students (and some brave parents and teachers!) had a go at these activities and embraced them - putting their BRAVE in front of their SCARED. It was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces and wobbly legs after the giant swing. Miss Tobin and Miss Cannon had a new experience going to the top of the giant swing, which will not be happening again!
This week we are getting back into the swing of things; learning about fractions in maths, the main idea in reading and how to write an excellent narrative piece in writing. We are also starting to investigate ‘living things’ and as such, we have planted herb seeds to watch them grow and document their progress. Each student is in charge of how often they water the seeds and how much light they give them. It should be a wonderful experience and everyone (if all goes to plan) will go home with a lovely pot of herbs at the end.
