Senior Unit - 5/6
On Monday, the Senior Unit hosted the Change Convention. It was an amazing day! We got a lot of great feedback from the other classes and parents. There were alot of fantastic stalls and we had an awesome time showing you our inventions and innovations. Thank you to everyone who came. - Madi SU2
Lilly - Tate’s visit
A couple of weeks ago, Tate came and spoke to the Senior Unit about including people with disabilities. He has Cerebral Palsy and has challenges talking and walking. We all learnt a very valuable lesson that we will carry on in our daily lives. Tate told us about how we must treat everyone equally. We are very lucky to have Tate talk to us about all his achievements in life and about his amazing parents and his loving brother. One of his extraordinary achievements in life was that he ran 3k in one hour! Thank you so much Tate for sharing your story with us all - Lilly SU2
Rose - Reading
This week in Reading we have been focusing on comparing and contrasting Jumanji from the movie to the book. We've been talking about the characters and how the storyline is different from the original book to the different story that we know and love today. The senior unit is working on literacy activities about the wonderful author Chris Van Allsburg. The tasks will include an author study about Chris, an author biography, task cards, a book talk to encourage people to read the book and the students are also going to create a diorama. - Rose SU2
