FOUNDATION – Cat and Bird

The Foundation students have been studying the artist Paul Klee this term. During this process the students also tried to experience what it was like to paint the Sistine chapel like Michelangelo and created Paul Klee artworks while laying on their back. They created their own version of Paul Klee’s Cat and Bird and then used chalk to create a city like Paul Klee on the sidewalk.

YEAR 1/2 – Circle Art

The Year 1/2s had a lot of fun exploring radial art where everything radiates from the centre but is also symmetrical. They used found objects from around their home for the radial art and also when creating shapes such as rainbows, love hearts, circles and squares. The students also enjoyed circle art and focused on the art elements of colour, shape and line.

YEAR 3/4 – Landscapes

The Year 3/4s played the roll-a-landscape game and created some vibrant patterned landscapes. They also used natural materials around their home to make a bird inspired by the book ‘How to Make a Bird’.

YEAR 5/6 – Still Life and Photography

The Year 5/6 students looked at the artist Paul Cezanne and the way he created still life paintings and then created their own using vegetables, fruit and other objects around the home. Many students enthusiastically explored photography this term. They were introduced to photo editing and used editing tools of cropping, filters and light to create beautiful landscape and close-up botanical photographs.
