GEMBROOK WILDLIFE SHELTER
Hello Mr Leech,
My Mum's friend Rita lives in Gembrook and for the last few years has been helping look after wildlife in the area. She takes in orphaned or sick animals and tends to them until they are fit enough to be released into the wild. I have had the first-hand experience of this wonderful work and feel very passionate about helping these animals. Recently the woman who ran the centre sadly passed away. Rita is trying to raise money to help keep the centre open to help these animals. Would it be possible to share the go fund me page below to the school community or at least my classmates? If so, I might need your help ? let me know what you think or recommend. Thank you.
Kind regards,
Frankie 5/6B
Please if you can go donate to the shelter it would mean a lot because just $6 can feed 20 kangaroos for dinner.

'ZOOM FATIGUE'
'Zoom fatigue' is the tiredness, worry or burnout feeling associated with the overuse of virtual platforms of communication, particularly videoconferencing. Stanford researchers identify four causes of ‘Zoom fatigue’ and their simple fixes. Professor Jeremy Bailenson also examined the psychological consequences of spending hours per day on Zoom and other popular video chat platforms, please click here to read the full article. There is also an option to take part in a survey to develop a Zoom Exhaustion & Fatigue Scale (ZEF Scale). The ZEF Scale survey will reveal your own 'Zoom Fatigue' level and assist in creating new strategies to alleviate 'Zoom Fatigue'.

WOOLWORTHS BRICKS
If you shop at Woolworths you may be aware that they are giving away Lego packs when you spend over $30.00. Of course if you are collecting these for your family no problem, but we are hoping to build on our Lego building blocks at school. These would be a fabulous resource for Maths and Inquiry activities. If you are not collecting them we would love it if you could collect them for us. We will have a container inside the office for your child to drop in when we return to school. We appreciate any and all that are donated. Thank you!
PORT PHILIP LIBRARY - SPRING HOLIDAY PROGRAM
The Port Philip Library at-home edition of the Spring school holiday program is launching on the 18th of September. Here is a sneak peak of their upcoming program. In the mean time you can get started on your entry for the My Bookmark Competition this years theme - What does spring mean to you. See details for this competition in the above link.
HEIDI ROGERS UPDATES
A lot of parents I see feel powerless when it comes to helping their children manage their mental health, anxiety, anger, and their general behaviour... But parents are actually the secret sauce for helping children to learn, grow, and heal. Taking a child to see a therapist for one hour a week is great - we can do a lot of good in the clinic. But you know where I see the real transformations? When parents are equipped with the knowledge and skills to help their child for the other 167 hours a week. If you'd like to unpack the concept further, check out this short (2min) video on the topic. It's empowering for parents to know how to support their kids... and it produces some amazing shifts in children. We're in this together, Heidi
