Year 1-2 Teacher
Year 1 & 2 students have been Home Learning Super Stars over the past few weeks. I have been so impressed with their effort and dedication to their learning. I have also been pleased to see all of their beautiful smiling faces on our class Zoom meetings each day. They are becoming more and more confident in sharing their learning in our Zoom meetings as well. Here are some examples of the fabulous home learning from Year 1 & 2.
Writing:
In writing we have been learning to write sentences that make sense. We have also been learning to build upon our descriptive writing techniques.
Mathematics:
In mathematics we have been learning about multiplication and area. We have been engaged in lots of practical math investigations at home. We are becoming more confident in counting in groups of 2's, 5's and 10's and recording multiplication in arrays. We have learnt that it can be tricky to measure areas but if we are careful, we can measure and compare areas using informal units with increasing accuracy.
Getting Creative:
We have been getting creative this week and getting outside in the lovely weather. We created nature people using bits and pieces found from out gardens.
