PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Carly Avery

Hi Parents,

Last night I met with our School Council. I would like to thank our School Council members for their valuable and productive support. One of the topics at our meeting was that of wellbeing and this current lockdown. I shared with the council that as a whole our parent group have been amazingly supportive throughout all the changes and challenges. I thank you for your ongoing support and words of thanks.

I also spoke about our teachers and the high standard of teaching that is continuing to happen during lockdowns.

They are continuing to present targeted teaching and differentiate learning. Working with families of students on a rising number of wellbeing issues and balance screen time with connecting students with peers. Whilst continuing to conduct teacher groups and assess our students learning amongst other things.

Our teachers are working harder than ever both online and behind the scenes. I am proud to work with this group of dedicated staff.

Sacramental Information Session

This will take place as planned at 6:00 pm this evening via Zoom. Please contact Markeeta Green if you did not receive the invitation.

Mask Wearing

Schools have been advised that “Victoria’s public health team are strongly recommending that primary school-aged children when they are not at home, wear a mask as an extra precaution against this virus.” St. Joseph’s supports parental choice as to whether parents supply a mask for their child to wear or choose not to have their child wear a mask.

Art Room

We are asking for any old newspapers, and any old CD/DVDs (we are going to make some art with the discs).

Thank you, Jodie
