What is Lockdown SAPPY?

I was viewing some of the Year 5/6’s Mind Maps of lockdown on Seesaw and I came upon this portmanteau word ‘Sappy’. I read further to find a full explanation from this wonderful Mind Map explaining all the ‘sad’ things about lockdown and also the ‘happy’ events that occur during lockdown. I guess we can all list the sad things but through the eyes of these Year 5/6 children I learnt more about their happy times.

A visit to a beautiful pink toilet - we certainly don’t have these at OLHC! A fridge full of scrumptious food - we only have this at OLHC when Denise is onsite. A garden’s avocado and lemon tree, motorbike riding, family fitness, cooking zoom with Donna Hay, mastering macaroons, night walks, food galore, extra sleep ins, family pets and of course ‘home is where the heart is’ are some of the many positives that I discovered reading these well designed mind maps. And yet there are events that are not within the children’s control that are being missed also shared here. What would your Mind Map look like?

Jack’s Jokes

Jack has been practising reading and telling jokes to teachers and children. His goal has been to provide laughter. Just what we need. Enjoy ‘Jack’s Jokes’ and I hope some of them bring laughter to your day.

Lego Fun on Wellbeing Wednesday

Thank you to Yvette Egonidis for running a Lego Zoom session for all classes yesterday afternoon. The response was fantastic along with many of the creative Lego pieces. Here are some of the children at school enjoying this special and fun event.

Please let me know if your child would benefit from a phone call or Zoom for a chat and a laugh during these difficult times.

Please contact me via my email or the school office.

Happy Mind Mapping
